Unexpected Thanksgiving Desserts:

Thanksgiving is less than a week away. Do you have it all together yet? This post will help. It is the last of a 3 post series of Thanksgiving recipes. Sorry, you won't find any pumpkin pie. These eight recipes are a bit more unexpected, like Sweet Potato Souffle Cupcakes. Scroll down and surprise your guests.

Goat Cheese Cheesecake With Honey-Cinnamon Apples
I can just imagine how rich this cheesecake is! This is a dessert that promises to impress!

Pumpkin Spice Magic Cake
An impressive Bundt cake that is made with a thick Mexican Caramel sauce called Cajeta. That's all I need to know.

Cinnamon Roll Apple Cobbler
Ooey, gooey, and chock full of apples! A delicious dessert or surprise breakfast.

Maple Bourbon Tiramisu Parfaits
The recipe author says it best. "Each parfait has 4 ladyfingers, two on the bottom and two in the middle. The lady fingers are cut to fit and dipped in a mixture of strong espresso, bourbon and maple syrup. The lady fingers are layered with a maple mascarpone mousse that you can enjoy with a spoon!"
Beyond Frosting

Creme Brulee Cheesecake
This is for Mollie. How yummy does it look? Cheesecake is always a favorite, but this recipe is very elevated.

No Churn Cinnamon Maple Swirl Ice Cream
I made something like this last week. And I will repeat it for Thanksgiving. It is exactly what your apple, pumpkin, and pecan pies need. No ice cream machine needed. It is honestly delicious. To make it even better, add bourbon.
The Wooden Spoon

Sweet Potato Souffle Cupcakes
Talk about unexpected! If you are asked to bring a dessert, these are it! Big and little kids alike will love them.

Pumpkin Chocolate Bread Pudding
This is a fabulous recipe for Thanksgiving dessert, breakfast, or snack. It's a good and easy recipe that begins with store bought brioche!

Back To Baking: The Sweet & The Savory

{ Via: Etsy }

Fall's crisp days and longer nights are all the reasons we need to get back to baking. Turn up the heat of your oven, and give one of these sweet or savory recipes a try. A few bakers tools have been added to the mix. Think warm spices, brandied apples, Le Creuset (on sale) quiche and more.

Pumpkin Creme Brulee
Of all the baking I have done over the years, I have never made Creme Brulee. What's wrong with me? It may be because I do not have a torch to toast the sugar topping. Look below where we both can get one.

Creme Brulee Set
I found this to be a great value. You get everything you see. It's all you need to make the above recipe. Or you can just buy the torch HERE for $20 less.

Caramel Apple Cake
Autumn on a plate. This stunning cake is actually said to be very easy to make. It only takes 20 minutes of prep time. The icing on this cake is a heaping serving of brandy apple caramel sauce.

Pumpkin Bread with Cream Cheese Swirl
Well, isn't this a work of art? This five star recipe is baked in the prettiest loaf pan. You can find the pan on sale at Sur La Table. The recipe looks easy enough, but I would double the amount of that cream cheese swirl.

Cook With Color Mixing Bowl Set
A very modern way to mix. Love that these 6 prep bowls come with lids! They come in 20 colors to match the mood of every kitchen. A great buy at $22.99. Most importantly, they are BPA free.

Shortcut Easy Apple Fritters
I have said it before. This household loves an apple fritter, and haven't had a good one since we moved. These look promising using puff pastry. I think we can do this!

Pecan Pie Cheesecake
Nothing is much better than pecan pie to me, except maybe this.  Might want to try it before Thanksgiving.

~ The Savory ~

Savory Monkey Bread
I have always heard of Monkey Bread, but I have never had it or attempted to make it. But thanks to refrigerated biscuits, it looks sinfully easy to make.

Baked Ziti
Just the name of this dish makes me think of The Sopranos. The beauty of this dish is that everyone will love it. It can be adapted any way you wish, add meat or sausage, use only veggies, etc.

Thyme & Cheddar Cheese Cookies
Just what your next Charcuterie or Cheese Board needs! Impress your guests when they ask where you got the crackers. I am going to give these a try.
The Flavor Bender

Spinach & Goat Cheese Quiche with Sweet Potato Crust
{ Gluten Free }
Easy to make and bangn' { the author's words } with flavor. I think that the sweet potato crust is genius and nutritious.

Le Creuset Heritage Pie Dish
Love that the inside of the pan is rich in color, too. Pick a shade to match your kitchen, and don't think twice. I'll take the "oyster" or "flame" On sale at.....
Le Creuset (17 Colors ) or Sur La Table ( 9 Colors )

Caramelized Onion and Apple Tart
Here we have the sweet and the savory. Delicious as a dinner with a salad. I would serve it as a yummy appetizer.

15 Warm & Cozy Winter Recipes

After the festivities of December, the month of January is a time to get cozy at home. Winter weather is so conducive to cuddling up and cooking. Cure your cravings with savory soups, hearty mains, cozy side dishes, and delicious desserts.

Crockpot French Onion Soup with Cheesy French Toast
This soup is my number one cozy recipe for Winter. I have not made it yet, but I plan on enjoying some with a glass of champagne this weekend.  What could be more perfect?

Ina Garten's Roast Chicken
For many, nothing is more comforting or cozy than a whole chicken in the oven. Not to me, but I do concede that the aroma is appealing. This recipe is simple and satisfying.

Smoked Cheddar, Honey Ham & Caramelized Onion Mac and Cheese
High on my list for cozy cuisine is Mac 'N Cheese. This one is different from the rest.  It calls for both smoked cheddar and smokey Gruyere! Don't you love the brown topping? It makes it look so appealing.

Pumpkin Bread Pudding With Whiskey Cream sauce
There's nothing better than a warm dessert on a cold winter's night. It's made with Cinnamon Raison Toast, which I haven't had in years. Sounds like a winner.

Italian Braised Short Ribs
This recipe rates #4 on the Williams Sonoma readers awards list for 2022. Just by looking at the image, I can see why. It is said to feature robust Italian flavors. Just yum!

Chicken and Stars Soup
For this flu and cold season (and do I dare mention Covid?) You need to keep this recipe handy, The lemon in it is so good for you. And you know what they say about chicken soup, it's good for the soul! If your market doesn't sell stars pasta. Amazon does. Just tap here

Caramelized Apple Cinnamon Dutch Baby Pancake
I tried to make one of these recently. It was a royal flop, but it wasn't this same recipe. This Dutch Baby is puffy, buttery, and gooey. I can't wait to try again.

French Beef Stew with Red Wine
Low and slow are the words that describe the cooking method for this delicious dish. Serve it with wide egg noodles, mashed potatoes or just warm crusty bread and a salad. It is said to have an intense flavor profile. I am sure the red wine helps with that.

Roasted Garlic and Prosciutto Cream Cheese Dip with Hot Honey
I wish that I had found this recipe last week when I entertained at cocktail hour. In my view, hot honey makes everything better. The perfect thing to serve when there's a hungry crowd.
Iowa Girl Eats

Warm Chocolate Fudge Cake
It's not often you get warm cake of any flavor. Make it warm, gooey and chocolate, and you are calling my name. Bourbon and vanilla are added to intensify the flavors. Oh boy!

Italian Meatballs
When in doubt, we do meatballs. This is an easy recipe they say can be made in 30 minutes.

Fish & Chips
Oh this recipe reminds me of the restaurant "Grill on The Alley," which was once a favorite in Chicago. They made a lot of great things, and this was one of them. Now I think I need to make this. Indulgent but once in a while.....

Truffle Mac & Cheese
Earthy, decadent, and a mushroom lovers (me) dream. They say, easy to make, too!

Apple Dumplings with Sauce
Warm and comforting. Just add ice cream. With 26 five star reviews, it may just be worth trying.

Amaretto Coffee
This amaretto coffee is "part drink, part winter dessert, and 100 percent irresistible." Just add booze!
