Tuesday's Ten Things: Beauty Products That Work

I am a beauty product junkie.  The makeup counter, even a virtual one, is my candyland.
Unfortunately, not all products work as good as they look. Today I share 10 Beauty Products  that are worth the splurge, because they work.

Alterna Bamboo Volume Plumping Strand Expand. I think we all are on a constant search
for bouncy fuller hair. After spending $95 for
Frederic Fekkai's All Day Plump....I discovered
this product while on a search for a less expensive alternative.  It's a thickening agent
that really does work.  I like that it is lightweight with a pleasant scent. No matter how much I use..it never weighs my hair down.
I rate this a 3.5 star product. Worth the $22.
Sephora

PHYTO Phytovolume Actif Volumizer.
I've been using this product for years.
It's for fine and limp hair. It's magic is
the Keratin amino acids.  I find it very
effective when spraying at the roots.
You will immediately see a lovely lifting
at the roots.  Love this spray!

Kate Somerville's Deep Tissue Repair.
This is the one moisturizer that actually gave me results I could see.  Immediately, my skin
was firmer.  After a period of time, I could
see the fading of fine lines and wrinkles. The
cream itself felt luxurious without being greasy.
It's expensive but I would say it is worth the
splurge. Find it at
Thanks to a very generous friend, Mollie, I am now the proud owner of this innovative
beauty tool.  It is a compact cleansing system
that is perfect for home or on the go. Love the
fact that you can take it in the shower! This
particular set is an amazing value with Philosophy skincare products.

This is my genie in a bottle!  It's a temporary fix for lines and wrinkles.  It does take some practice to get it right, but it's worth the effort. Line Up lightens up the lines on my face by about 60%. You can find it many places but
Amazon has it at a great savings. Worth a try!

Creme de Corps
This body cream is the crem de la crem!
I have been using for years and wouldn't trade it for any other brand.  It is thick, softening, and without any discernible fragrance.  I love the sheen it gives to my skin, especially with a tan.
Speaking of tans, I find it to be a terrific tan accelerator, as well. It is available in a plastic bottle, which is great for travel. It's the best!

There are a few really good mascaras on the market. This one is at the top of my list. It lasts
the entire day for me. And even though it doesn't state that it is waterproof...trust me....it is.  The black is intense and the brush is large.
One coat lengthens and curls, but I always apply a second coat for added drama.  And one
of the best things about this mascara is the price.  A reasonable $16. It's a winner.

By far, the very best Concealer I have ever tried.  It is full coverage and very emollient.
It slips right on or under your foundation.  A
little dab will do you.  I appreciate the array of
shades from which to choose. I call it my magic
eraser. Find it at Sephora.

I love a good glow.  This lightweight cream
makes your complexion look like it is lit from within. It's sheer, with no coverage, just a
lovely soft focus luminosity. I wear it in
Super Orgasm. It's beautiful.

I love a multi-purpose product. This one is iconic and available in 16 shades.  I must tell you it lasts forever!  The bronzing shades are
terrific for contouring.  One product can be used
on cheeks, eyes, lips and body.  Terrific!
