Farm Fresh Fall Flavors

 

Today's trip to the Farmer's Market was inspiration for this post. Oh the squash, mushrooms, apples, pumpkins and more! I felt so lucky to have mountains of marvelous fresh organic food at my fingertips. I am ready to turn over a new leaf, and change up my recipe repertoire. You, too? These farm fresh recipes will fill your kitchen with all the cozy scents of the new season.

Cheers to Fall and all of its' fabulous flavors. I don't even care for vodka, but this recipe sounds and looks appealing to me.

Butternut Squash And Chevre Pie
Besides the beauty of this dish, the recipe had me at caramelized onions! I think that we all should practice this pretty pie for Thanksgiving serving. It's a wow recipe!

Autumn Harvest Honeycrisp Apple and Feta Salad
This salad is simple yet not one bit boring. I mean life is too short to eat a boring salad. The crunch in this recipe not only adds the flavor but the texture. 

Apple Focaccia with Gruyère and Rosemary
What a great appetizer! It's also an easy picnic or pot luck dish to make. Guaranteed to be a hit! The rosemary will fill your kitchen with the scents of fall.

Pumpkin Risotto With Apple Cider & Caramelized Onions
Rich and Creamy, the perfect fall comfort food. I think this one is a must make for me.

My Dad made a great whiskey sour. Oh how I would love to share one with him today. Though it is served cold, it warms you from the inside out.

An amazing apple fritter is right up there in my top ten favorite foods. I haven't had a good one since we left Chicago. These look just right.

I do believe that my fave fall flavor is sage. I can almost smell this roast cooking. There is spinach involved in the recipe too, and of course a bit of garlic. Looks divine!

Gruyere Scalloped Potatoes
If you make the pork loin above, you simply have to make these to go with it. The smokey gruyere cheese really elevates this calssic.

Apple Cider Donuts With Cinnamon Maple Glaze
Your crew will wake up happy to the smell of these baked donuts. A glazed donut is always good. Add maple syrup, and it's a party!

Baked Squash Mac and Cheese
What a creative and tasty way to serve Mac and Cheese! I think this ultimate comfort food is pretty enough for company. The recipe involves three types of cheeses and prosciutto. Making this one day soon.

Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding With Rum Caramel Sauce
Oh how decadent, just like dessert should be. I often put a touch of rum in my caramel sauce, so I know that works. Yummy!

What a clever twist on a classic, but healthier! It is so colorful, thanks to the sweets and spinach. The potatoes sub for lasagna noodles.

Buttered Mushroom, Fig and Bacon Galette with Roasted Squash
A little bit fancy but really simple and oh so cozy. How could it not be with that flakey buttery crust and all of those ingredients....and more?

Pumpkin Spice Cake
This recipe has a little bit of magic thrown in the mix. You make a Mexican "flan," and layer it with the cake. It all comes out in the end with a sleight of hand flip.
