Autumn and the arrival of cool weather is the perfect time to to heat up the kitchen with something saucy and sensational. I have a feeling  that "Mr. Shop This" will be looking for some Sunday sauce after reading this recipe roundup. I hope that you find something appetizing, too.

Did you know that the original lasagna comes from Bologna, Italy? I did not. And it always featured a creamy bechamel sauce and meat ragu. My last effort at lasagna for company featured the bechamel. I will never make the dish without it again. The sauce elevates it to something very special.

Pasta with Grilled Eggplant, Smoky Tomato Sauce and Basil Walnut Pistou

This dish is like a garden on your plate. It's  both earthy and healthy. The smoky tomato sauce sounds heavenly. If you no longer are grilling outdoors, grill that eggplant in a grill pan!

French Onion Pizza
If you love French Onion Soup as much as I do, this pizza is for you. I believe that caramelized onions make almost any dish better. These are cooked for an hour in butter with thyme, bay leaves, sherry wine, and beef stock. Oh my!

Bucatini Pasta with Burrata & Fried Breadcrumbs
Don't you just want a spoon for that burrata? This is an olive oil based sauce where the seasoning is key. I think it looks fabulous.

Pumpkin Sausage Sage Pizza
This recipe features some of my favorite fall ingredients. I bet it smells wonderful while it is baking. And that crust!!

Creamy Mushroom Pasta
An easy weeknight dinner that sounds delicious. It's a rich dish which features mushrooms, heavy cream and white wine. How lovely!
