Foodie Friday: Stay Warm With Breakfast In Bed

It's a holiday weekend, and many of you will have a day off on Monday. Why not stay in bed? The last time I had breakfast served in bed, was by the butler at The Lanesborough Hotel in London.  It was a royal experience! Memories of serving "Miss Shop This" breakfast in bed daily.  Many thought it was indulgent, but for me, it was a lovely way to start off anyone's day.

Scrambled Eggs With Truffles
Wow worthy! What a pretty preparation. Anything with truffles has got to be delicious!

Tiramisu French Toast
To me, French Toast is just the best thing one can make with sliced bread. In this case, it's sliced challah bread. Beyond rich, this recipe is a must try.
Heather Christo

Goat Cheese Spinach Frittata
Every picture tells a story. This one tells three. First I think it might be an ad for Le Creuset Cookware. This egg dish is baked in one of their Mini Cocottes, which comes in several colors.  The original recipe is Martha Stewart's. Click below to see what was changed up.
Dishes and Details

Baked Blueberry Sour Cream Donuts
Almost too pretty to eat. They call for a donut pan which can be found at Sur La Table
Baking A Moment

Fruit Medley With Yoghurt, Honey and Nuts
A beautiful way to start the day. Serve it with a champagne cocktail.

Eggs En Cocotte, Spinach Puree and Prosciutto Fingers
Could a breakfast look more stylish? These get easier with frozen spinach.
House and Garden UK

Peanut Butter & Chocolate Scones – Low Carb and Gluten-Free
These little pretties are for my sister and little Miss Shop This. Yum!
All Day I Dream About Food

Easy Skillet Cinnamon Rolls With Salted Caramel
Oh did I say it is all topped with pecan cream cheese? I bet these sure beat those rolls that squeeze out of a popping can!
The Wicked Noodle

German Pancake With Lemon And Sugar
Add a bit of drama to the breakfast tray with this lovely dish. A little something different without syrup.
Gourmet Traveller

Banana French Toast with Chocolate And Salted Caramel
It just doesn't get any yummier than this! The bread is brioche, which sounds very interesting.
The Carousel

Burnt Orange, Maple And Candied Walnut Porridge
Made with roasted oranges (don't they sound yummy?) this dish offers a variety of textures and flavors. The best part of the recipe, is that it takes only 15 minutes to make! A little something different.
Butter and Brioche

Potato and Green Garlic Crustless Quiche with Goat Cheese, Gruyère, and Chives {Gluten-Free}
A beautiful egg dish that can adapt to the type of veggies you prefer.
Bon Jon Gourmet

Butterscotch Coffee
This recipe couldn't be easier, with only 5 ingredients. I don't even drink coffee and I would certainly try this.
Taste Of Home

Glazed Apple Fritters
Deep fried and stuffed with sweet cinnamon apples. What a treat!
The Kitchn

Blueberry Buckle Coffee Cake
A cake without frosting to me, is not a cake - unless you want to call it "coffee cake." This recipe is frosted with a deep crumb topping, which does sound delish.
Simply Suzanne's

Cotija Guacamole and Chorizo Eggs Benedict
A recipe that had me at "Chipotle Lime Sauce."  So many great ingredients, this is a triple threat winner!

Frumple Cakes
If anyone has dined at The Original Pancake House, you are familiar with 49'RS. I believe that this recipe resembles them, but not in presentation. It's my favorite item on the menu, so I know I would love these sweet frumpled crepes!
Confession Of A Cookbook Queen

Bacon, Egg, and Toast Cups
The all American breakfast gets an upgrade, and it couldn't be easier.
Martha Stewart

Belgian Waffles with Whipped Lemon Ricotta and Blackberries
Now this is something, I have not tried. Pretty fancy shmancy, right?
The Kitchen Whisperer

Carrot Cake Mini Stacks With Cream Cheese Frosting
One of my all time favorite cakes has got to be Carrot Cake. Turn that recipe into a pancake, and I know that I would love it. These are layered with frosting. OMG!

Golden Globe Glam: How To Get Your Own

The stars came out in glamorous style for the 72nd Golden Globe Awards. I was entertained every minute of the red carpet and the show. What ever are we going to do without Tina Fey and Amy Poehler? Their only misstep, in my opinion, were the jokes about Bill Cosby. I just don't think there is anything funny about that situation.

To be honest, It really is the glam, the beauty, fashion, and accessories that interests me the most. So here is my take on the best of glam at the Globes. Just scroll through and click to get your own Golden Glam look!

~ Fashion ~

Emma Stone in a Lanvin "Playsuit"
With a swashbuckling side sash, this Lanvin look sparkled while looking fresh, modern, youthful, and fashion forward. I also think an ankle length pant is always chic. Jumpsuits are a fun option for evening.
You can count on standing out in a crowd.

HERE: A few evening jumpsuits worth considering - Diane Von Furstenberg's Caroline Embellished Jumpsuit at Nordstrom's. Valentino's Cutout wool and silk-blend crepe jumpsuit now on Sale at Net-a Porter, and ZUHAIR MURAD'S Lace Jumpsuit at Stylebop

Julianne Moore
The Best Actress winner wore a custom couture Givenchy gown with silver sequins and feather detail. She sparkled and shined on the Red Carpet. The look was all starlet. I have long loved feathers for dress up. Here are a few dresses with fab feathers for your own wardrobe:

Ann Taylor's Feathered Hem Dress. You won't believe the price of this chic sheath! See it at Ann Taylor. This Feather-Bodice Crepe Gown by Roland Mouret is red carpet worthy at Neiman MarcusMy favorite is, St. John Collection's Organza Fil Coupe Shift Dress, which is so sophisticated at Nordstrom

Taylor Schilling
Red was the color of the night, and that is a bit unusual on a Red Carpet. I think that Taylor Schilling did it best in Ralph Lauren. I have had worn red several times to special events. Have to say, I had the best time in doing so! If you want to jump on the crimson wave, here are a few standout styles for you to consider.

Cut25 by Yigal Azrouel's One Shoulder Gown at Shopbop is slender instead of full, but it still makes a big statement. MARCHESA's Embroidered Tulle Ball Gown would certainly be a hit on the Red Carpet. See the Trunk Show at Moda Operandi (ends in 3 days) And this Marilyn Ballgown by Nika is a good choice for less than $500 at E-Dress Me

~ Accessories ~

Naomi Watts
There  was lots of buzz about Naomi's yellow Gucci dress. Sorry, I just don't like blondes in yellow. If it wasn't for that Bulgari Serpenti diamond necklace, it was a lackluster look.  Here are a few snappy snakes that are sure to make a style statement for your next red carpet moment, for a fraction of the cost.

So loving Alexis Bittar's Imperial Noir Lucite Snake Necklace now on sale at Saks.  Then there is this really good looking multi chain Crystal Draped Snake Necklace by Jardin, which is really well priced at JCPennyRoberto Coin's 18k White Gold Diamond Snake Necklace probably best matches the Bulgari necklace in quality. See it at Neiman Marcus

Heidi Klum
Heidi really bought her A game and dazzled like a star on the Red Carpet. Loved her handful of rings! Get the look with these rings by Meira T at Saks, A really affordable Diamonique Bypass Ring in Sterling at QVC and Tamara Comolli's Diamond Pave Sloppy Ring. Trust me, there is nothing sloppy about this brilliant bauble! See it at Marissa Collections.

Kelly Osbourne
Say what you want about Kelly, but she practices what she preaches, and has fun with her look.  Kelly is a joy to watch on Fashion Police. She took a moment to make a memory, and play paparazzi with her clever camera clutch designed by Judith Leiber. You can find a chic collection of these expensive but elegant bags at Neiman Marcus - so many chic choices from cool cats to fab fish. Most of her handbags are $1,000 and up.

Here are some less pricy picks:  Always be camera ready with Ashlyn'd Cameron's Acrylic Crossbody Camera Bag. A must have for "your-selfie!" Now on Sale at Shopbop.  The Karl Camera Clutch  is the perfect playful companion at Matches Fashion. I'm just crazy about these Papa Razzi bags. Many to choose from and all less than $100 at yoox

~ Beauty ~

Rosamund Pike
The "Gone Girl" arrived in a barely there dress that did not impress. But she has just had a baby within the last six weeks, so I'll give her a pass. As wrong as her outfit was, the natural face and hair were beyond beautiful.  My research tells me that  Oscar Blandi Polishing Glossing Creme was used on the bouncy bob. Her lipstick was CHANEL ROUGE COCO SHINE Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Ingenue. See it at Nordstrom.

Lupita Nyong'o
Her dress was a miss, I thought. Pretty, yes, but just a bit too much going on, for me. But her makeup was one of my favorite beauty looks of the night.  It perfectly matched her Giambattista Valli gown.

She wore the stunning Lancome lipstick Color Design Lipcolor in Hit List, lined it with Le Lipstique in Sheer Chocolat, and topped it off with Lancome’s Lip Lover in Framboise Etoile for a dewy finish. Her eyes were so gorgeous using Lancôme's 'Color Design' Shadow and Liner Palette in Jacaranda Bloom

Jennifer Lopez
Oh, J Low - too low! And that slit? Too high! Even though I didn't care for her Zuhair Murad gown, she did turn heads. Speaking of hair, I liked hers, and surely most of it wasn't her own. That hairdo went on for days with lots of chunky highlights.

I have read that L'Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It Volume Inject Mousse was used to create the volume. As far as makeup, some didn't care for it, but makeup guru Bobbi Brown and I loved it. It was true  glam. Click HERE to see how Bobbi creates a similar rockstar eye and pale lip. You can find her smokey eye products HERE
