What To Cook In Your Slow Cooker Or Instant Pot

{ Via: Williams Sonoma }

Am I the only one that has not tried an Instant Pot? In a nutshell, an instant pot is really just a modernized pressure cooker. It's quick and rather healthy cooking. The slow cooker has been around since the early crock pot days. I have had one for that long. It is easy hands free cooking. These 12 recipes, along with  Insta Pots and Slow Cookers are meant to get us all out of the kitchen faster and  easier.

Slow Cooker Saucy Sunday Bolognese Pasta
Sunday pasta. Now that's a concept that "Mr. Shop This" enjoyed as a child. Maybe it is time I embrace the tradition. This recipe begins with browning the meat in a separate pan. It is a necessary step. A beautiful bowl, right?

Instant Pot Salmon & Mashed Potatoes
A recipe doesn't get any easier than this. You get a protein and a side in 4 minutes in one pot. Sounds too good to be true. But this picture is worth
1,000 words.

Cuisinart Pressure Cooker
This little cooker features low and high pressure settings. It also browns, simmers, sautes, and keeps food warm. Best yet, it's on sale.
Sur La Table

Best Instant Pot Rice Pudding
My Father loved rice pudding. My poor Mom tried and tried to make it like his own Mother made it, without much success. I have never had much luck either. This recipe promises perfect texture and creaminess in just 30 minutes.

Slow Cooker Pineapple Pulled Pork
Pulled pork is the other dish I have cooked in my slow cooker. It really is perfection for pork. But this recipe had me at pineapple. Doesn't it look delish?

Instant Pot Jambalaya
This recipe has been lightened up with chicken sausage instead of greasy chorizo. Yet, still, it is filled with a delicious depth of flavor.

Instant Pot Peanut Butter Cheesecake With Chocolate Crust
If you dig peanut butter and chocolate (who doesn't?) and love a good cheesecake, this may be a reason to buy an instant pot.

Pressure Cooker Accessory Kit
If you are going to attempt the cheesecake above, you'll need these tools. Only at
Williams Sonoma

White Wine Braise Short Ribs With Buttered Mushroom Cream Sauce
This recipe keeps it cozy while being a touch fancy. The ribs are slow cooked in white wine with fresh herbs. A must try.
Half Baked Harvest

Instant Pot Lasagna
My first thought was how does this pasta keep its' shape? It's the springform pan that you build the layers in. And to raise it up in your pot, you use a trivet. Genius.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Chili
Chili is what I use my slow cooker recipe for the most. This recipe looks so good with the trimmings, it almost doesn't matter what the chili tastes like. Not really. It's said to be filled with all of the buffalo chicken fabulous flavors.

Cuisinart Programable Slow Cooker
This powerful slow cooker is intuitive and programable. The ceramic cooking pot heats evenly, which is important. It's also on sale by 50%!

Slow Cooker Chocolate Chip Cookie
Now this may convince me to branch out in my slow cooking! The best part of this recipe is there is no need to turn on your oven, break out the cookie pans, or dirty your cookie scoop. I'm in!

Instant Pot Thai Coconut Clams
These Thai-inspired clams are salty, tangy, and rich from the coconut milk. With the help of an instant pot, now you can have Thai at home even faster than delivery.

Slow Cooker Coq Au Vin
This is a timeless French recipe that delivers comfort with every bite.

Instant Pot Chicken Tortilla Soup
Actually, this zesty recipe can be made either in the Instant Pot or Slow Cooker. See recipe for those details. Most importantly,  it is loaded with corn, black beans, shredded chicken and topped with crunchy baked tortilla strips. YUM!

Foodie Friday: Chili 12 Ways & A Few Cornbread Recipes

As soon as the calendar says Fall, I find myself craving chili. I think "Mr. and Miss Shop This" might agree, Chili is one of my specialties. There are three ingredients that I always include: chocolate, beer, and a side of corn bread. The rest varies depending on mood. Won't you join me in a big bowl of hot chili? These recipes will get you in the mood for Fall food!

HERE: 16 Chili & Cornbread Recipes

Award Winning Chili
I think that this is how every bowl of chili should look like. Yes, I like mine fully loaded. Get up early to make this, as it cooks for 8 hours!

Fire & Ice Chili
The not so secret ingredient to this recipe is dark chocolate ice cream! The author says the depth of flavor that it adds to the chili is "insane." I can believe that. I always add chocolate to mine. Click to read more about this
magical recipe.

Chili Cheese Steak Stew
Doesn't this just look like a bowl of love! It's made with shaved sirloin, like the kind that is in a Philly Cheese steak sandwich. Can you believe that I have never had one of those? There's also yummy additions like chipotle pepper in adobo and all of that cheese!

Chili Meatballs In A Black Bean & Tomato Sauce
This sounds so very good. And the sprinkled Crispy Chorizo is just the topping this dish needs!

Buttermilk Skillet Cornbread with Tomatoes and Scallions
Upgrade your cornbread to this fancy-ish recipe. I think you will want to eat it with a spoon.

Seafood Chili in Tortilla Cups
Wow! This looks and sounds delicious! You need to plan ahead as the beans need to be soaked over night. A great starter
 or appetizer!

Crockpot Carne Asada Beer Chili
Is there any other way to make chili than with beer? I always get two cans out. One for the pot and one for the chef (me) and sous chef to split. This recipe begins with flank steak and goes up from there. Those fritos? Super good in chili.

Zoe Nathan’s Bacon Cheddar Muffins
At heart these are corn muffins with a little extra something!

Rotisserie White Chicken Chili
Paprika and Cayenne give this easy recipe it's color and depth of flavor. Best yet, you can buy the chicken already cooked!

Slow Cooker Turkey Sweet Potato Chili
The recipe calls for ground turkey, but doesn't say dark meat or breast. If you are watching fat content, get the turkey breast. Your chili will be done in four hours when cooked on high or 8 hours on the low setting.

Pepper Jack–Bacon Cornbread
If you can believe this recipe calls for a box mix. So it could not be easier.  I will add that I think the boxed mixes need a pinch or two of sugar.
Woman's Day

Award Winning Instant Pot Chili Recipe
This recipe is full of bacon, ground beef, beans, and all the toppings you want! Because it is made in the Instant Pot, it's done in one hour!

Smoky Pulled Pork Chili
You use leftover pork shoulder as your meat in this smoky  sweet recipe. Don't worry if you like a little kick in your chili, this one packs just a
touch of heat.

Sweet Potato and White Bean
Chili With Sage
This is a hearty vegetarian  chili that's perfect for a meatless Monday. Can you imagine how the kitchen will smell with the sage?

Slow Cooker Black Bean Quinoa Pumpkin Chicken Chili
How's that for a mouthful? It's gluten free and creamy thanks to the slightly sweet pumpkin added. Very unique!

Farmers Market Corn Bread
Gluten Free
What a gorgeous and healthy looking dish! Besides the fresh veggies, it's loaded with feta cheese. I bet any kind of cheese would work just as well.
