Saturdays At Shop This: Beauty Sleep

Daylight savings time ends this Sunday. Will you take advantage of the extra hour of sleep? Or will you be like Mr. Shop This, and be up with the birds, on your old schedule? Like a teenager, I love the chance for an extra hour of sleep when I can get it.  Before you have to get up and get going, here are some beautiful links that will have you resting easy this weekend.

I have never worn a sleep mask, but I think they are so pretty, and make great gifts for besties.  Shopbop  has a fun collection.

How to Get a Better Night’s Sleep—And Why It Should Be Your Top Priority (Really). Once I made it my priority, life really did change.

One key to a good night's sleep is good bedding basics including a featherbed. If you haven't tried a featherbed yet, you don't know what you are missing. I find that I do not sleep well at all without one. A featherbed is great for cushioning all of your joints while you sleep, too. Pacific Coast Bedding has a sale going now. Save 25% on all pillows and 20% off Featherbeds.

I've read good things about the Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask. Fix my face while I sleep? Yes Please!

What could be a better gift for someone you love (or yourself) than a good night's sleep? I think that the Good Vibes Sleep Activator sounds promising. Read about it at AHAlife.

Building a nest for a new baby? Look to Serenea & Lily for inspiration. From coastal blues to petal soft pinks, and sophisticated greys, it's all sweet as can be.

I swear by a relaxing bath before bed. Goop's G.Nite Bedtime Bath Soak. It's a winner of the prestigious Allure best in beauty award. It promises to helps relax and ease the feelings of stress and tension that can interfere with restful sleep. This all natural product would make a wonderful gift for anyone stressed out. Bloomie's has a gift with purchase
 going on now, too

If organic linen and cotton bedding is important to you, it might be for your guests, too.  Coyuchi Linens has a 20% off event now for new customers.  I love their
beautiful linens and accessories.

The title of this product made me smile: Whipped Pistachio Body Butter – a.k.a The Boyfriend Body Butter. What to do with it? After showering or bathing, massage all over body, concentrating on elbows, knees and heels. Apply liberally to feet and sleep in socks for a healing night treatment. Apparently, "Pistachio Oil is rich in vitamins and minerals.   I think that our "boyfriends" will pop for the $28. Learn more at

Sweet dreams my friends. Fight the urge to get up early on Sunday. Your body and mind will thank you for the
extra hour.

Saturdays At Shop This: Sweet Dreams

{ Via: Vogue }

This Sunday marks the end of Daylight Saving Time. As we set our clocks back an hour, and get an extra hour to sleep, let's concentrate on how we can do that best. Here are some links that will keep you cozy, comfy and chic while you sleep this weekend.

It's a lot easier to be well, if you sleep well. Enter The Healthy Sleep Shop at Goop. 42 items that will help optimize a good night's sleep.

Do you wear socks to bed? It may not be very sexy, but I must. Because "Mr. Shop This" runs warm, make that hot, and our bedroom is beyond cool. I found these Sleepy Sheepy Socks, and think they are so fun. Said to be the ultimate in softness and just like your favorite fluffy bathrobe. I'm ordering.

And though I have never worn one, the idea of a sleeping mask intrigues me. Parker Thatch's Personalized Sleeping Sweetheart Mask makes a darling gift. On sale now at Horchow.

The main event of the weekend is really bedtime. So why not surround yourself in the best bedding you can buy?  I suggest that you visit Coyuchi, home to pure fabrics like mother Nature intended. I have my eye on the 500 TC Organic Pima Sateen Sheets in fog.

I never woke my sleeping baby, rejecting strict schedules. We were all happier that way. And babies sleep better when their inner temperature is regulated. The clothing company 37 Degrees from London, uses a smart fabric that maintains and regulates body heat by storing it in its fibers, then slowly releasing it when necessary. This means that babies get neither too warm nor too chilly. Genius right? Shop the collection at AHAlife.

Beauty Sleep: I have had these pillowcases on my wish list for years. Maybe this year.....The Illuminage Skin Rejuvenating Pillowcases. They are infused with copper and clinically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles for smoother, younger-looking skin in as little as four weeks weeks. Not to mention the smoothing effects for your hair.

Bedtime Book for urban babies: Count To Sleep New York City at Barneys

Give the gift of a good night's sleep. The Dream to Sleep Gift Set by This Works, features essential oil superblends from Lavender to Chamomile and Vetivert, and a cozy eye mask will ensure they sleep tight.

How is your mattress treating you? If you awaken with aches and pains, you may want to investigate the use of a "featherbed." We have used our Pacific Coast Featherbeds for years. I don't sleep well without one. You'll find them all on sale this weekend.

Sunday just may be a good time for "Pajamas All Day." I could do that in this little get up at Anthropologie. You must click to see how comfy it looks.

Perhaps the worst part of turning back the clocks is that we (meaning me) have one less hour to wear our sunnies!  Try to find the light this weekend, Friends.

XOXO

Countdown To College

I hate to even say the words "Back to School" yet, but the college kids will be heading there soon. Sending your child off to college and away from home takes some planning. It really isn't too early to begin making a list, and ordering what you need.  Miss Shop This and I spent the entire Summer getting her dorm room together. My favorite tip: order on line and have your things shipped to school! It's a great relief not to have to pack it up and ship it all yourself. There are so many fun and functional choices for every budget.  Here's what I loved.

Bisley File Cabinets
Add color and functionality to a drab dorm room. I remember my own coed needing something that locked to keep her passport and jewelry safe. Terrific as a trio or alone. Fun!
The Container Store

Acrylic Desk Accessories
Style and function! Lighten up the desk with these clearly chic containers.
CB2

Spectrum Hamper
Oh yes, there will be dirty clothes...for days! Store them in style with these chic containers.
The Company Store

Underbed Shoe Storage
Heels on wheels! Floor space is premium in a dorm room. You simply must hide things under the bed. The wheels make this one handy storage solution.
Target

Mini Dot Sheet Set
Even if they don't make the bed, these sheets will add style and a pop of color to the dorm room. Now on sale at
Pottery Barn Teen

WallCandy Chalkframe Decal
Decorative and oh so usable. She will write notes to herself or her roomie daily. Perfect for the dorm room door, as well.

Umbra Diamond Boards
Mix and match the way you stay organized with these super cool magnet chalkboard, cork, and dry erase board fragments. Buy 1 - 101 for unlimited designs like cool chevron, stylish squares, or chic cubes. Super cool. Read all about them at

Bungee Overdoor Towel Rack by Umbra
There's one thing for sure, the average dorm room has absolutely no room for towels, wet or dry. This rack is the answer. Plenty of room for sharing with a roommate.

Joy Mangano Hangers & Mini Steamer
Ask any college student. Huggable Hangers and a steamer are essentials for the school year. The hangers will triple the hanging space in that tiny closet. The steamer takes the place of an iron and bulky board. You need both.
HSN

Dorm Wall Decals
Your college guy or coed is all about social media. They will feel right at home with these icons on their wall. They are removable, too!
Wall Star Graphics at Etsy

Cuisinart® EasyPop™ Hot Air Popcorn Maker

Both guys and girls will love the cozy comfort of this bedding. Available in a rainbow of colors with the feel of their favorite tee shirt.
