Wedding Wednesday: Designer Dream Dresses

It's good to be back. I hope that you all had a fabulous long weekend. Mine was busy with family and friends. To ease back into the work week, let's take a walk down the aisle together. This roundup features dreamy dresses (and pants) that took my breath away. I hope that you love them, too.

Oscar De La Renta Spring 2018
Talk about fancy pants!  This look is for any bride who wants to have a good time and look fabulous on her special day.
Oscar De La Renta

Johanna Ortiz
The Columbia fashion designer has debuted her first bridal collection. This style embraces lace in the prettiest way.  Only available at
Moda Operandi

Sachin & Babi Spring 2018
This collection is just filled with delicious details like feathers, flounces, and flowers. This look is so very fashion forward. Love it!
Sachin & Babi

Oscar De La Renta Lucy
From the Spring 2018 Collection. White "Just Married" embroidered denim jacket, white tulle and horse hair signature skirt. This look is for the downtown bride looking for a little edge. What fun!

Caroline Herrera Spring 2018
Exquisite and understated. This chic choice is for the fashion forward sophisticated bride.

Johanna Ortiz
The barely there sleeves, high low hem and ravishing ruffles all create a dream dress that is ready to tango!
Moda Operandi

Zuhair Murad Spring 2018
Often seen worn on the red carpet by the likes of Jlo, this collection is over the top pretty. I just love a long sleeve bridal dress. Such an elegant look.
Zsa Zsa Bellagio

Costarellos Dotted Swiss Dress
This dress makes me so happy. It has style for miles. Proof that covered up can be both classy and sexy.
Moda Operandi

Viktor & Rolf Spring 2018
This bejeweled sparkle mini makes a fashion statement for the girl looking for something different. It is designed with pockets! Perfect for a City Hall wedding.
Viktor & Rolf

Claire Pettibone Primavera
Part of the Four Seasons Collection, this dress is one of my favorites. The fabric, embroidery, and colors bring the fresh beauty of a Spring garden. You won't need a flower girl when wearing this dress.
Claire Pettibone

Sachin & Babi Spring 2018
What an elegant way to incorporate pants into your wedding.
Sachin & Babi

Ashi Studio Spring 2017
Oh dress, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. From the rise and fall of the hemline, the exaggerated tailoring, the statement sleeves to the embrace of lace... it's just magic!
Ashi Studio

Naeem Khan Autumn Winter 2017 Collection
Garden wedding anyone? The detailed embroidery on this very feminine style is unbelievably intricate. This is not your average bridal look.
Zsa Zsa Bellagio

Reem Acra Spring 2018
Those statement sleeves, the off the shoulder bodice, and just a bit of bling....it all adds up to a very luxe look.

Wedding Wednesday: Spring 2015 Bridal Trends

(Via Jeanette Getrost)

This week has been all about Spring 2015 Fashion at #NYFW2014. But back in April the runways were filled with the best of bridal for Spring 2015.  Today, fashion forward brides come to expect more than a little lace and a sweetheart neckline.  The designers did not disappoint for Spring.

Here: Four Top Trends

468x60

Off The Shoulder
This is a romantic look that adds an instant softness to the dress. An off the shoulder neckline adds emphasis to shoulders and is a nice alternative to a typical sweetheart neckline.

Anne Barge Whisper
And those sleeves are indeed just a whisper of tulle.  Loving the simple silhouette of this embellished gown.
Anne Barge

Pronovias
Chantilly lace and a beautiful face and arms! A close up look of this dress really shows the gorgeous sheer sleeves and pretty shoulder line.

Monique Lhuillier
The designer created a coordinating shrug to be worn over the Axelle strapless drop waist gown with cascading tulle skirt. I think this extra piece adds so much interest and style.

 Jenny Packman - The Hepburn
Demure and elegant, this gown reflects two trends - bows and off the shoulder.

Illusion Backs
Think about it. The back of your gown actually gets plenty of viewing. As you walk down the aisle, as you stand at the altar, and even during your first spin on the dance floor, your back is to your guests. So why shouldn't the back be as interesting (or even more) as the front of the dress?

Kenneth Pool
The Katya is an drop dead gorgeous look with just perfect placement of the appliques.

Kenneth Pool
The Sada is another favorite of mine with a big WOW factor.  A dropped waist ballgown with lace applique and bustled tulle skirt.

Amsale Heather
Sexy in a sophisticated way, the Heather is made of heavy crepe with a bateau neckline and sheer back. Covered buttons from neckline to the waist add intrigue.  The veil is so perfect with the gown!

Oversized Bows

"Jane" by Anna Maier Couture
The bride is all wrapped up in white satin, and she is topped with an off center modern bow. Found the dress on Huffington Post and the designer's website is
Ulla-Maija

Ines di Santo 2015
This is quite the gown that is both sexy and elegant. Love the creative use of fabric.
Ines di Santo

Jesus Peiro
This is a pretty collection from this Spanish bridal house. The oversized bow is the perfect size for the voluminous skirt.

Tulle Skirts
If you have always dreamed about looking like a Princess, next Spring is your time. Poufy full ballgown skirts are bigger than ever.

Vera Wang
I am not sure what Vera was thinking this year, most of her models look like they need a good meal.  But her gowns remain magical. The metallic embroidery makes a big statement here.
Vera Wang

Sareh Nouri
Layers of tulle and silk organza create a dramatic look with a keyhole back. Too much?

Pronovias Leina
From the Dreams Collection, this is one frilly frock. I particularly like the silver and gemstone appliqued belt. The dress needed that.

Wedding Wednesday: Down The Aisle With Alternative Style

(Via Inslee Designs)

Do you enjoy shows like "Say Yes To the Dress?"  I enjoy watching the process of gown shopping. I have to say, however, I have yet to see a dress that I would have worn or can see my daughter wearing.  Of course, the traditional wedding gown can be gorgeous for some. But if you don't dream about looking like a princess, can't imagine wearing a veil, prefer couture to bridal style, or are having a small private affair, there are alternatives.  Wear what makes you feel the best version of yourself on your special day.

Here's How To Get Down The Aisle In Alternative Style

Vera Wang
Even Vera realizes that brides come in all sizes and types. These are for a girl with an edge. From her Spring 2014 Collection.
Vera Wang

Claire Pettibone
Casablanca
Floral lace mini with flowing chiffon panels and re-embroidered lace appliqués. From one of my favorite wedding gown designers. Modern, sexy and ethereal.

I wore a hat for my own wedding. It is so much fun to be different. I love the unexpected, such as this dramatic back. Sold only at

Theia - Spring 2015
Haven Sleeveless Silver Floral Jacquard and Tulle Crop Top Ball Gown. For the very trendy bride!
Theia

Elie Saab
This white haute jumpsuit proves that you can wear Chantilly lace and not be dressed traditionally.
Neiman Marcus

Debbie's Limited Edition Dress
You'll be the "something blue" in this chic crochet and lace dress. Perfect for a Las Vegas wedding!

Claire Pettibone Robyn
Toile cotton pencil skirt with lace bodice and tulle overlay with satin sash. One of the best short gowns I have seen.
Claire Pettibone

Oscar de la Renta
Bow Gown
Every bit as dressy as a traditional gown, sans a veil. I would add gold shoes and a touch of gold in my hair. Gorgeous!
Oscar de la Renta

Temperley London
Avalia Dress
Channel your inner Audrey Hepburn with this sophisticated sheath. Don't you love the gloves with it?
Temperley London

Claire Pettibone Raven
I was the brave soul that wore a black floral dress to the Senior Prom. So why wouldn't I walk down the aisle in this beauty? Black tulle embroidered with pink and red roses over silver sequins and pearl silk with long train. And for the less adventurous bride, it comes in ivory.
Claire Pettibone

Lanvin Embellished
Duchesse-Satin Dress
Fluffy with frou frou, this fab frock is perfect for the girl who just wants to have some fun!
Net-a-Porter

Temperley London Catroux Dress
Perhaps my favorite of this edit.  I love the sculptured twists and turns of this strikingly sheer dress.

ML MONIQUE LHUILLIER
Right On Key Gown
With a look this fabulous, "alternative" is awesome! This is a great pick if you are getting married in a hurry. It is a rental! Once you see the details of the rented and the original price, you just might be sold on the idea.

Monique Lhuillier Paige Skirt
Now this is unique! If you just don't wear dresses, this is your answer for your special day.

Cotton lace creates a sophisticated dress with a vintage vibe.  So perfect for a morning or afternoon wedding.
