Wedding Wednesday: Seat Your Guests

Besides the champagne, cake, and the couple, seating your guests is one of the most important reception details. It's the only way to avoid chaos. You can do this with escort cards that feature names and table numbers, and place cards that are placed at each place setting. Having both is lovely, but not totally necessary. Here's inspiration.

Acrylic Drink Stirrers
Love this idea, and have actually have seen it used at a wedding. Greet your guests with a glass of bubbly that will also direct them to their table and seat. Or have the glass of champagne waiting at their seat at their assigned table. It is a great way to start the reception with a toast!

Tassel Place Cards
Tassels always add a touch of sophisticated fun.

These are fab! You can use them as escort cards with names and table numbers, or place cards at each place setting. They also can come with stands which adds texture and height to your decor.

Blush and Gold Paper Scroll Place Cards with Calligraphy
These are so lovely and also unexpected. These can be done in any color you wish to match your wedding decor. Also if you want first and last name and/or table numbers, that can be done, as well.

For those DIYers....these are simply gorgeous. Grey and gold is always sophisticated, but they offer other color combinations, too. Gather your friends with the best penmanship, and do them, yourself.
Betlem Calligraphy

Wedding Wednesday: Something Blue

"Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue." Most brides do incorporate something blue into their wedding wardrobe. Mine was a blue ribbon laced into my undies. Do you remember how you did blue? If you are a blue lover, this is your year to go all out, in the color of the year.
 Here's inspiration.

DIY Wedding Decor With 828 Venues & Etsy

{ Click the photo above to see the post }

Today I share with you a "guest blogger" post I did a while ago for 828 Venues. You may remember that I featured these fabulous wedding venues before: Wedding Wednesday: Unique & Historic Venues For Your Big Day.  When they kindly asked me to be a guest blogger for their Indianapolis, Industry venue, I was honored and jumped at the chance.  Not everyone wants or can afford a wedding planner. Doing it yourself can be challenging unless you know where to shop.  Etsy is an excellent source for the DIY bride.

 In this post I talk about four different elements of wedding decor: signage, lighting, balloons (which are so trending this year) and tabletop. All four are important elements for your big day. Click any photo below to visit the post for inspiration and shopping links
