Foodie Friday: Cooking With Bourbon

Oh what a weekend for food and drink! It's your choice. Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with fun fiesta recipes, or in honor of the Kentucky Derby, go the Southern Charm route with bourbon.  Food and bourbon make one of the sexiest combos ever. I love the smoky caramel and vanilla flavor for both sweet and savory dishes.  And here's some trivia. Did you know that Bourbon whiskey, gets its name from Bourbon County, Kentucky? I should know, most of my family lives there. Today's post is a winner if you enjoy a good cocktail, barbecue, and a little horsing around.

HERE: 16 Recipes To Bet On

 Bacon Bourbon BBQ Chicken Kebabs
One of the main ingredients of this dish is homemade "bacon paste." The bacon adds so much flavor and juiciness to the chicken. Then the entire dish is topped off with bourbon-infused barbecue sauce. Whoa!

Grilled Cheese with Bourbon Melted Onions
The rich sweetness of the caramelized onions with the added splash of bourbon will change your boring grilled cheese into a
mind-blowing meal.

Peach Bourbon Pie
This makes me think of my Grandma Pearl, but she probably didn't put any liquor in hers. Classic and I bet fabulous.

Crockpot Bacon Bourbon Baked Beans
Beans how they should be made with a cup of bourbon, molasses, brown sugar, thick cut bacon and more.

Bourbon-Glazed Lemon Salmon
Generally, speaking, I always make some kind of glaze when cooking salmon. Never thought of adding bourbon though. Doesn't this
look delightful?

Kentucky Derby Mini Chocolate-Pecan Cakes With Vanilla Bourbon
Smash Ice Cream
The perfect dessert! The individual servings make this dish beautiful for a buffet. I have taken to making my own ice cream. It is so much better than store bought. And you'll often taste a touch of alcohol in mine. YUM!
Half Baked Harvest

Grilled Shrimp with Maker's Mark
 Butter Sauce
A basic shrimp recipe that gets jazzed up with what sounds like the best sauce ever. Think bourbon, apple juice, apple cider and more!
