The college countdown is upon us. I remember vividly the process., and loved helping "Miss Shop This" create her dorm style.  There are several steps that help the decorating begin and end without a hitch. For a coordinated look, communicate with your roomie before school begins. Then you can decide on a color 
theme together.

Check with the school's mail room, and see if they will accept packages you send before your arrival. Bard College was most helpful with this.
