It was me alone in the bathroom doing the best makeup tricks I knew from teenage modeling days.  Even though there was a house full of relatives, I felt a bit alone. So I phoned a friend, Patti, and asked her to please join me. She and the "adult beverage" that accompanied her, made all of the difference in the world.
