Wanting to do a normal Wedding Wednesday Post today, I soon realized that Spring 2021 Bridal Shows were cancelled. The Spring 2020 wedding days were as well. It's all so sad. So instead, today's post keeps it light with a motto of "no pants no problem." We are zooming in on the best tops to wear for all of your Zoom meetings and happy hours.

Saturdays At Shop This: Let's Hear It For The Girls

{ Via: Etsy }

Happy weekend! Tomorrow we celebrate women on International Women's Day. Don't you think we should do that every day? Something we can all do today is to patronize female-founded businesses. Follow these links to some of my favorite women in business and the products they sell.

Diane Von Furstenberg is someone I have always admired. She has accomplished so many great things. I love how she gives back and empowers other women to be "in charge." If you enjoy her styles, like I do,  shop her website this weekend and save 20% on full priced styles with
Code: INCHARGE.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Lauren Santo Domingo: Co Founder of Moda Operandi. She is one of the most authoritative figures on New York’s fashion circuit. I happen to think that Moda Operandi is THE premier destination for luxury fashion. I ordered holiday gifts from there last year. I was impressed with the customer service and presentation of my gifts. You owe yourself some window shopping there!

Emily Weiss is the founder and CEO of the cosmetics company Glossier and the blog Into the Gloss. Her makeup line is the definition of
no-makeup makeup. If you are a minimalist when it comes to beauty and skincare, I urge you to take a look at her line. I love the packaging.  It's very "cool girl."

Amrita Singh: I have long been a fan of her fashion jewelry. Founded in 2003, Amrita created her jewelry for girls and women who love a good statement piece and want to play with trends—without breaking the bank! This weekend you can shop her Modern Pearl collection. It's faux but fabulous and on sale!

Spanx: "It all started with a pair of pantyhose, some scissors, and a bright idea." In March of 2012, Founder Sara Blakely, was named the world's youngest, self-made female billionaire by Forbes Magazine and one of TIME's 100 most influential people.  If you have not tried her shapewear,  I would start with the
Bra-llelujah! It's super comfy.

Anine BingFounder and Chief Creative Officer, Anine Bing, thoughtfully curates each piece in her "see now, buy now" monthly collections where she marries edgy and feminine in a soft meets hard design approach. I happen to love her elevated essentials. As an example, her Arrow Shirt in zebra silk represents her soft side. And on the opposite spectrum, the Liza Croco Jacket is the hard design. It's my favorite piece of the collection. Loving that high shine!

Goop: I so admire Gwyneth Paltrow. It seems that she and I are interested in the same things ~ good quality, well made fashion, beauty products without toxins, and keeping an open mind about almost everything.  I always learn something when I visit her website. I especially love the podcasts.
And the weekly articles vary from 8 Ways To Reduce Anxiety to Clean Beauty & Why It is Important. Grab a glass of wine and click on over to be inspired about life.

You go, Girls! Just be you, and always dance like no one is watching.

A Woman To Admire: Diane Von Furstenberg

International Woman's Day is tomorrow, March 8th. I don't exactly consider myself a feminist, instead I am proud to be a "Humanist." My made up word means I believe in equal rights for all......all races....all humans. But for today, I do celebrate a woman that I admire, Diane Von Furstenberg. Ever since I was a teenager, I was mesmerized by this young designer.  In 1972, as Diane launched her business, I wanted one of her wrap dresses more than anything. They were out of this young girl's budget, so my mother created one using a Vogue pattern. It was navy print, and I felt fabulous in it!

It isn't only Diane's skills as a designer that I admire, her philanthropy and out reach to other women is beyond admirable. As found in Vogue UK: "She launched the DVF Awards in 2010, a scheme which aims to recognise women whose leadership skills and vision have has a positive impact on the lives of other women around the world. Supported by The Diller-Von Furstenberg Family Foundation, each honoree receives a $50,000 award from the Foundation to sustain and expand their extraordinary contributions. "Women never cease to impress and inspire me," the designer said, "and I am very happy to create these Awards to honour and reward their leadership and dedication to the advancement of women."

DVF'S  2nd Annual "In Charge" Celebration of
International Women’s Day
This year Diane celebrates the power of women's voices and what it means to be "in charge with women like Gloria Steinam," Sophia Bush and more inspirational
 women. Details HERE:

Diane is still doing her wrap dress in many variations, and moved on to a full ready to wear line along with accessories.  You may enjoy the History of the Wrap Dress HERE.  Below are a few of my favorites from her Spring 2019 collection. And for International Women's Day, DVF Will donate 20% to VV GROW.  And all of us enjoy 20% off full-price items. Use code INCHARGE.

Lyra Silk Maxi
My favorite of the Spring wraps. Love the silk spots and the peek a boo shoulders. Fabulous!

Talita Silk Crepe Midi Dress
Named after Diane's Granddaughter, this flattering dress could be worn anywhere!

Rosalyn Cotton Eyelet Top
Here's a peek at the most beautiful top. It's chic to the max with stylish sleeves and a boxy, easy to wear shape. Diane suggests pairing it with white white pants.

I will leave you with one of my favorite DVF Quotes. As women, let's not compete with each other. Instead, let's inspire each other.

Thanks, Diane, for all of the inspiration you have
given to me. I will try to pass it on.
