He pirouetted with you like a pro many moons ago, and now it is time to show the world his skills. Picking a song for you and your Dad is a tricky task. The lyrics really matter. They can't be sexy, too romantic, or x-rated. And let's face it, not every Dad can dance. Lucky "Miss Shop This," her Father still has moves. The words are perfect for expressing Fatherly love. The tempo is super slow, so just a box step will do. A great choice for the reluctant dancer. Listen at iTunes

So my girl and her dad absolutely love The Rolling Stones. And this is one of the few songs by the band that features lyrics that wouldn't make the bride blush

Pass out the tissue, the words to this song will promote tears. It is beautiful and very meaningful. Again it is super slow, so non dancers can just sway.

Old school cool. If Dad is into Motown  (who isn't?) he will love this choice.  The words are sweet, and it is fun pick for dancing.

A fun fast dance for the Daddy and Daughter that aren't afraid to put on a show. The crowd will love it, and this song will get the party started. I actually can see "Mr. Shop This and Miss Shop This" dancing to this one.

And isn't this just where a Dad should be - one call away? It's a contemporary song that will make Dad look even cooler than he already is.

Whenever I Call You Friend
Dad will most likely remember this song. It is sweet, and the lyrics are all about love and friendship. Plus it gets a little uptempo, which gives you both a chance to cut loose.

 

You Are The Sunshine Of My Life

Well, hopefully you are. Most girls are daddy's girls. The words are perfect for both dads and daughters. An oldie by Stevie Wonder, but a goodie. I wouldn't mind this at our daughter's upcoming wedding, as we played it during our own ceremony.

Because parents only want our children to be happy. Spread some happiness on the dance floor with this crowd pleasing song. Instead of tears, there will be smiles all around.
