Foodie Friday: Cool Cocktails and Creative Appetizers

( Via Taste )

Can you believe it is the last weekend in July? Where has this Summer gone? There is still plenty of time for Summer parties, though. In fact, my need for a recipe for a "Big Chill" weekend with friends led me to this edit. Of course, I want to bring something unique and delicious. If you are planning your own Summer soiree, think about offering a signature cocktail. Everyone will want to try your chic concoction.  Cheers to an endless Summer!

HERE: 17 Sensational Summer Recipes

Heirloom Tomato Tart With Ricotta And Basil
I wish that I had better luck with crusts, because I would be making this dish for the weekend. What a fabulous way to enjoy the season's greatest gift-Heirloom Tomatoes!
Williams-Sonoma Taste

Lava Flow Cocktail
Made with Malibu Coconut Rum......if you haven't tried it, you are missing out on a tasty treat. The juicy red color is from frozen strawberries. The swirling white liquid is cream of coconut. Bartender, please!

Crostini with Arugula Pesto, Blue Cheese and Fresh Figs
So summery, attractive and easy! This awesome appetizer can be whipped up in no time. I have never made pesto with Arugula, but its' green and peppery flavor should work very well.

Melon Ball Cocktail
This is an elevated wine spritzer. A genius and gorgeous idea!

Wild Garlic Hummus With Ritz Cracker Coated Asparagus
I haven't bought a Ritz Cracker in years, but I have to admit, those two words were what drew me to this recipe.
Twigg Studios

Giada's Italian Piadina with Fontina & Prosciutto
Italian for "flatbread," Giada says: ".... this is a lot like pizza, except the crust doesn't rise and it is typically cooked on the grill....." Without a sauce but still with fabulous flavor, this looks like one awesome appetizer.

Kiwi Mojito
Made with ripe kiwis, lime juice, mint leaves, sugar or simple syrup, sparkling water, rum, and ice. How refreshing!
Laylita

Rosemary Flora Greyhound
I wish I liked Gin. People love it on a warm Summer day. This liquor is actually flora infused. So pretty!

Summer Fruit Plate With Pesto Mozzarella

Sweet ripe juicy peaches team up with spicy Serrano Chili's. It is said that every sip provides a "sweet and delicious burn." Sounds like happiness to me!

Simple Michelada
There's always a beer drinker (or 10 in every crowd) This cocktail adds some chic to the can.
