Wedding Wednesday: Plan A Themed Bridal Shower

I absolutely love a good party theme! A bridal shower or any type of event is so much more fun when there is a theme. For a shower, you might want to plan the party around the brides hobby, such as cooking. If planning a destination wedding, a travel theme works well. And a Tea Party is always a girly thing to do. Allow your theme to be apparent beginning with the invitation.  I have designed four themed showers, with a little help from Martha Stewart, for your personal inspiration.

The Tea Party Shower
This is something I know a little bit about, as I hosted a tea party for my niece, Deanna. You may want to serve a variety of tea. Tea Forte offers beautiful silken pyramid tea bags. I first found them at The Ritz Carlton, so you know they are elegant. And then what could be prettier than tea blooming with flowers? Enter Teaposy Tea.  You will want to thank your guests for coming. This Michael Graves Bird Tea Infuser is super stylish at JCPenney.  For more Tea Themed  ideas, Paper-Source  offers, Tea Gift Bags, Downton Abbey Tea Bags, and so much more. You will find a variety of clever tea theme recipes and ideas at Martha Stewart

Cooking Bridal Shower
Perfect for the bride who loves to cook.  Isn't the mini cutting board invitation clever?  If budget is not a factor, you can find mini boards at Amazon for $10 or these round boards at Crate and Barrel for less than $5. If you would rather not have the shower in your home, consider doing it at a local Sur La Table. All of your guests can have a cooking lesson together. Love this idea! Get the details HERE.  And if you are advising a bride or are a bride yourself and love to cook, Sur La Table is the perfect place for your Registry. Travel Theme Shower
If a bride-to-be loves to travel or is planning a destination wedding, This theme is a no brainer, and will get everyone in the mood for the big event.  Choose a location based on the destination for the wedding or honeymoon. Paper-Source has five elegant Cavalini Travel Wrapping Papers that would be perfect for wrapping favors. These Flight 001 Whimsical Luggage Tags make adorable Place Cards or Party Favors. See them at Shop Bop.  Girls love to play games at showers. Travel Table Topics at Paper-Source would be great fun. For more inspiration, shop Beau-Coup for loads of travel themed items. I love the Rolling Suitcase Party Favor Tins and Eiffel Tower Placecard Holders. More fabulous ideas at Martha Stewart

Alphabet Bridal Shower
Now this is a fun theme to work with no matter what the letters are. Let's use the word "Lauren" just for fun. Assign each guest a letter of the bride's name for their gift selection. L for lovely "linens" A for "Appliances," U for "Undies" R for "Red Wine Glasses," E for "Entertaining," N for a Nightie. Looking for an elegant invitation?Consider Connor's Monogram Note Cards at Barneys A less expensive option is this Modern Monogram A6 Stationery at Paper-Source. And perhaps my favorite alphabet Letters are the Lucite Letters at C. Wonder. They make a chic centerpiece and then the bride can take them home as a gift.  Martha Stewart has so many more ideas from A to Z.
