It's been way too long since I have traveled
to The Hudson Valley and The Belvedere Mansion.
We discovered this gem when our daughter attended
Bard College (about a 20 minute drive). It soon became one of our very favorite destinations.
The views from the top of the hill are of the
mighty Hudson River and Catskill Mountains. Breakfast on the veranda is a treat, and sunset cocktails is an evening ritual.

There's a room for every type of traveler at the Mansion. The main house offers old world charm. The Zen Lodge, has a quiet vibe with shared outdoor spaces and contemporary furnishings with "Zen-like" sparseness.
The Carriage House offers smaller rooms with charming decor and fireplaces. The Hunt
Lodge is my favorite. Nestled in the woods
behind the main house, it is both private
and pretty darn fabulous!

Romantic Dinners in the gilded
and Zagat rated restaurant.
The gracious grounds offer swimming,
basking in the sun, and private spaces for
quiet relaxation.
They say a picture is worth a 1000 words.
I'll end by saying, that a stay here takes one back in time in a relaxed but refined
atmosphere. I have hosted 2 private dinner parties here, and so appreciated the staff's attention to detail. I can hardly wait to return. Perhaps I have one more private event to
experience at the Mansion. On that note,
enjoy this insiders look below, into a private
wedding at Belvedere.
