This Foodie Friday is purely personal. It's my birthday weekend (Easter Sunday, actually), and I love cake. Make that - I adore cake, but it has to be really good. I want it to be worth the calories. Don't you agree? So here's to all the celebrations of the weekend. If you are entertaining, when in doubt, let them eat cake!

Doesn't this look like a party about to happen? Make anyone happy with this chic little cake.
Boozy Raspberry Lemon Souffle Cheesecake
This souffle cheesecake is light as air with a cheesy, creamy, lemon soufflĂ© filling topped with a divine raspberry sauce that’s sweet and slightly tart.
Cherry Blossom Cake
Certainly beautiful, and just look at that frosting! It is done with an offset spatula. I bet we can all do this. The cake itself features Sakura. Google that.
Lemon Pudding Cake
A charming choice for your Easter guests. it is said to be fresh and creamy with a custard like consistency. Amazon has some sweet stencils.
Peanut Butter Snickers Cake
If you know me, well, you know that this cake is calling my name. This is sweetness overload in the best of ways. The chocolate layer cake is said to be the best ever because it is made with buttermilk. Did you know that buttermilk breaks down gluten? Me either. Just yum.
High Hat Cupcakes
Are these not too much fun? They also look like a blast to make. They involve dipping into a bath of chocolate, like hand dipped ice cream cones. You have to love a cupcake with a pretty in pink stuffed center!
Pink Champagne Cakes
Cakes and cupcakes just can't get any more appealing. The edible gold flakes make this recipe celebration worthy! And the icing on this cake includes pink champagne
truffles. How decadent!

Toasted Marshmallow Filling and Malted Chocolate Frosting make this cake exceptional. They say that this cake is intense. Just perfect for any chocolate lover.
Vanilla Cake
Sometimes, I can find a texture issue with gluten free baked products. But doesn't this cake look fluffy and fabulous? It is said to be super easy to make with 10 ingredients.
Minimalist Baker
Caramel Cream Cake
They say it best: "This three-layer butter cake has a pecan-pie filling in between the cake layers, a rich cream cheese frosting, and a topping of sweet coconut and chopped pecans. It's a great dessert for holiday entertaining."
My Recipes
Chocolate Easter Egg Nest Cake
Of course I had to include the quintessential Easter cake (other than a bunny cake)! The author says that this cake looks much harder than it is. With meringue (my fave) ganache {another love } and Cadbury Eggs,
this recipe is a winner.
Chew Town
Strawberry Dream Cake
What a presentation! And that thick layer of frosting and strawberries in the middle is just what I like. Fluffy whipped frosting made with marscapone cheese, sugar, whipping cream, and vanilla and almond extracts is the perfect finishing touch.
Southern Living
Chocolate Cake With Raspberry Buttercream
Oh how delightful! Chocolate cake layers get lightened up with a meringue buttercream. Simply dreamy.
Baking A Moment
I'll leave you on a sweet note.....must go bake my own birthday cake. Can you guess which one
I am making?
