Foodie Friday: Chill Out With Ice Cream Recipes & Cook's Tools.

Ice Cream, the all American dessert. I have read that 90% of U.S. households consume frozen treats all year long. Nice to know that I am in the 10% minority, as we rarely have any ice cream in our freezer. I try not to use anything with preservatives. To me, most ice cream from the market, taste like the cardboard in which it is stored.  After doing this post, I have one goal for the weekend - to make my own!  It's National Ice Cream Month. Let's celebrate.

HERE: 21 Recipes & Cooks Tools

Pistachio Mint Chip Ice Cream
Made with an egg custard base and full fat coconut milk, this beautiful recipe is said to be easy peasy. Scroll down for the dipped ice cream cone recipe.

Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake Ice Cream
Oh how pretty, huh? But if you don't like strawberries, other fruit can be substituted.  This recipe features a healthier list of ingredients such as honey, low fat cream cheese and Stevia!

Blueberry Pancake Ice cream
"If breakfast and dessert had a love child, blueberry pancake ice cream would be it." The recipe author swears it tastes just like a pancake!

Zoku Ice Cream Maker

Now Happy Hour will even be sweeter. Made with limes and avocados, this is one boozy but fab float. Best yet, it's Dairy Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan, Nut-Free etc.

Alessi Big Love Bowl & Roasted Strawberry Marshmallow Ice Cream
This recipe marries sexy strawberries (roasted no less) with homemade gooey marshmallow cream, and serves it up in one big bright bowl. This treat is meant to be shared by lovers (of ice cream) with the single heart shaped spoon. I think it is a win win, and the bowl in three colors makes a great gift for anyone.

Almond Torte Mascarpone Ice Cream
Fat chunks of cake are blended into this ice cream, along with a brown butter almond crunch. Have your cake and eat the ice cream too...all in one bite.

Porcelain Gelato Bowls
Homemade gelato, ice cream and snacks deserve these pretty porcelain pieces.

Tin Roof Ice Cream Cake
Aida Mollenkamp's recipe is rated easy enough for beginners.  It's a twist on a Tin Roof Sundae (one of my faves.) This cool concoction is made with peanut butter ice cream and chocolate ganache. YUM!

S'Mores Ice Cream Cupcakes
Few things are better than S'Mores, This may just be one of them!

Soapstone Ice Cream Bowl Set
This handsome set keeps scoops of ice cream cold on a warm Summer day. Just pop the soapstone bowl into the freezer before serving. Or if you like, you can keep dips and appetizers piping hot by popping the bowls in the oven. Genius! Sold only at

Vegan Ice Cream Snickers
The author states that these taste like Ryan Gosling looks. With only five ingredients, this recipe adds up to a hunk of chocolate love.

Chocolate Dipped Ice Cream Cones
An ice cream cone is a delight to people of all ages. I say, why not make them even better, by hand dipping your own?
