Foodie Friday: Serving Up A Stylish St. Patrick's Day: Recipes & More

This is the one Holiday where we all can be a little bit Irish, if just for the day. St. Patrick's Day is always fun and festive, but rarely what one would call "stylish." I am doing a little Irish dinner party myself. So I've searched for elevated dishes that anyone would be proud to serve.  As always, presentation is key. Scroll down to find some wonderful recipes, and a few pretty pieces for your own stylish service.

Corned Wagyu Brisket With Horseradish Bechamel
This is the real deal. What a beautiful piece of meat! The horseradish béchamel sauce is an interesting touch.
Gourmet Traveller

Corned Beef Salad
With corned beef, rye bread croutons and homemade thousand island dressing, this is like a deconstructed Reuben Sandwich. A great way to use the leftover beef

Black Treacle Soda Bread
If you are like me, your first question is "What is Black Treacle?" I looked it up: "uncrystallised dark syrup, known as dark or blackstrap molasses." Irish Soda Bread usually bores me a bit, but this loaf looks fabulous! Serve warm with butter. Duh!
Gourmet Traveller

Irish Coffee Sundaes With Caramel Whiskey Sauce
Spiked Caramel Sauce? Yes please! I recently just made my first homemade caramel sauce. It was beyond delicious and ever so easy! All of this goodness is topped off with a coffee nut crisp. Yum!
Epicurious

Beef Bacon and Mushroom Pie With
Dark Ale
As featured in The Irish Echo for the St. Patrick’s Day edition of the paper. The topping is just pre-made puff pastry. I am really tempted!
What Katie Ate

Oscar De La Renta Marbelized Charger
Dress your table with style. Almost anything you make will taste better when served on Oscar's dinnerware. Loving the green charger!
Saks Fifth Avenue

Guinness Glazed Slow Cooker Corned Beef
This recipe is in the lead for my St. Patrick's Day dinner party. I love to make a glaze and or a wine reduction, and do it often. But I have never used Guinness. The end result is a bubbling brew of beef, beer and brown sugar! Picture perfect!

Shamrock Soft Pretzels
The perfect thing to serve with a cool green beer! Don't worry, you can do it. These pretzels are made with Pillsbury refrigerated original breadsticks. The green mustard adds a festive flair to this fun bite.
The Daily Meal

Guinness Mustard
A special meal calls for a special mustard. Don't worry, you aren't totally making this mustard by scratch. It begins with Dijon and ends with brown sugar. Sounds delish!
Bon Appetit

Le Creuset Palm Collection
I have always wanted some of this chic cookware. The colors and styles are so beautiful, it's no wonder Oprah listed them as one of her "Favorite Things in 2014. "The story of Le Creuset is one of a superior product idea — enameled cast iron cookware — improved over time through innovations in technology, design and manufacturing." Shop the collection by color at
Le Creuset

Guinness Chocolate Cake
I am not quite sure how I feel about pairing chocolate and beer. But I do put chocolate in my chili, so hey, it just may work. At any rate, this cake does look divine!
Call Me Cupcake

Potato, Brussel Sprout and Goat Cheese Pizza
This recipe had me at goat cheese! What a delightful appetizer for your St. Patrick's Day party.
Heather Christo

Colcannon
A long standing Irish classic, is all of a sudden on trend with the added Kale. This is certainly a way to get someone to eat their "greens."
Simply Recipes

Bird's Beak Glass Carafe
For use on St. Patrick's Day and beyond.  Personalize with your own poison, whether it’s “sparkling” and “still” or “water” and “wine.”
Mark and Graham

Grasshopper Pie
A Southern fave, even my Kentucky Grandmother made it. Martha has updated it with coconut and fresh mint.  This one is old school cool
Martha Stewart

Braised Red Cabbage
Plain cabbage is just a bit boring to serve in my view. The addition of red wine and port, apples, bacon, honey and more, elevates this dish to something special!
Saveur

Botticino Marble Coasters
Handcrafted with a vintage vibe. This set of tumbled marble coasters would make a great host gift for your St. Patrick's Day party.
Anthropologie

Corned Beef Sliders
Pretty as a picture! These can be served on potato rolls or grilled toast. A fun party food.
Sur la Table

Key Lime Swirl Cheesecake Bars
Homemade lime curd is swirled into the cheesecake batter to create s stunning delight!
Confessions Of A Cookbook Queen

O'Briens Irish Stew
This recipe calls for the classic ingredient of lamb, but your favorite meat can be substituted. Traditional Irish stew is typically cooked in the oven for two hours, but you can also make it in the slow cooker. Comfort food at its' best!
Fountain Avenue Kitchen

Purple Slaw (Vegan)
Not in the mood for the sometimes boring cooked cabbage? Serve this instead. Chef Bryant Terry uses silken tofu to make a light, vegan-friendly dressing for this apple, cabbage and raw-beet slaw.
Pure Wow

Good Luck Basket
For those who take their heritage seriously. Anyone will celebrate the day with this beautiful basket of caramel apples and pretzels.
Mrs. Prindables

Green Pepper Four Leaf Clover
Leave it to Martha Stewart to think of this adorable garnish. It is just too easy to make. I'm thinking of decorating the butter dish with one.

The Irish Breakfast Cocktail
One part Irish, one part healthy. Of course the Irish is whiskey, The healthy ingredients are Kale Juice and an Organic Egg. Top of the 'morning, to ya. Cheers!
